BBQ Chicken Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 pound (450g) pizza dough, homemade or store-bought
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Olive oil, for brushing
- Cornmeal or flour, for dusting
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can go (usually around 475-500°F or 245-260°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven as it preheats.
2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a circle or rectangle, depending on your preference and the shape of your baking sheet or pizza stone.
3. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel dusted with cornmeal or flour.
4. Brush the edges of the dough with olive oil to create a golden crust.
5. Spread BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
6. Sprinkle cooked chicken breast over the BBQ sauce, followed by shredded mozzarella cheese.
7. Scatter thinly sliced red onion over the top of the pizza.
8. Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9. Once done, remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the top.
10. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy this delicious BBQ chicken pizza!
